About
Board Certified Civil Trial Lawyer. Supreme Court Certified Circuit Civil Mediator. A trial lawyer's mediator, in practice in South Tampa since 1980.
Anthony T. Martino has practiced as a civil litigator since 1980 and has been a Board Certified Civil Trial Lawyer since 1987, certified by both The Florida Bar and the National Board of Trial Advocacy. He has practiced continuously as a civil trial specialist in South Tampa for more than four decades and has lectured frequently to lawyers and physicians on civil litigation.
That record is the reason the mediation works. Having tried auto and trucking cases, medical malpractice, products liability, nursing home neglect, commercial litigation, and estate disputes, Mr. Martino can value a file the way both trial counsel and the carrier will value it — and say so plainly.
As mediator, he discusses the issues with both sides of a claim, identifies the strongest and weakest issues for each side, and presents a balancing test to resolve the dispute. Where a party is interested in reaching a reasonable settlement, he works to help clients understand the benefit of resolution based on a clear-eyed reading of the issues and the likelihood of success at trial.
As arbitrator, the posture changes: the focus moves to the strengths of each case and to reaching a decision on the merits.
Mr. Martino and his wife live in South Tampa. They have three grown and married children, six granddaughters, and one grandson. He is a member of Palma Ceia Golf and Country Club and of Christ the King Catholic Church, and enjoys golf, hunting, and fishing.
